Course Description

The Chemical and Biological Engineering program covers a broad range of advance chemical and biological engineering topics related to water, food, energy, and the environment. Students are offered opportunities to develop real-world solutions to global challenges by leveraging basic discoveries in chemical and biological engineering and sciences. These include the development of new processes for gas and liquid separations, water desalination, process design and optimization, catalysis, as well as the development of new materials for carbon capture and sustainable and renewable energy.

The outstanding facilities for high performance computing and analysis on campus facilitate research in these materials and processes that are likely to have direct social and economic impact. The Chemical and Biological Engineering program actually offers a choice of two tracks:
Advanced Chemical Engineering and Advanced Biological Engineering. Both tracks cover a broad range of advanced chemical and biological engineering topics and will equip a student for a sucessful and productive career in these fields.
