Course Description
The Foundations course introduces students to the core competencies of effective professionals who are committed to communication, collaboration, community, and viable solutions for a better world. The competencies are related to practice-centered learning and professional development, intercultural communication, leadership, management, and transformational change processes in organizations and society. Through multiple teaching-learning methods, including readings, lectures, discussions, simulations, and individual and group projects, students acquire the knowledge and skills to plan and carry out ongoing, self-directed, professional development that effectively utilizes other courses, research, work experience, and nonformal learning opportunities.
