About the courseProject management is the discipline of organising and managing resources in order to complete a project within defined scope, time, cost and quality constraints, and with an acceptable level of risk. Major global projects increasingly require professionals with integrated skills who can operate in a variety of cultural and socio-economic settings around the world.
Our course MSc Global Project Management is aimed at students who may not have a traditional business background at undergraduate level, and offers modules in project management, supply chain management, international marketing, and product development.
Our graduates demonstrate a strong understanding of the theories, principles and applications of project management. In terms of your future career, project managers can be found in all industries across the globe.

Your postgraduate study at Essex gives you an opportunity to develop your own ideas and interests, and to engage with thinking at the leading edge of your subject, as part of the research community in Essex Business School, and our wider academic and professional community.
As you are studying a non-science subject, then your teaching mainly takes the form of lectures and classes.
Your assessment is a combination of written coursework, end-of-term tests, practical and laboratory work (where appropriate) and end-of-year exams. During the summer, you will work on a dissertation or individual project included in your final grade.

Some of our Masters may be taken as the first part of an Integrated PhD, leading to your PhD after a further three years of full-time study.

Research study opportunities
Within our Essex Business School, we offer supervision for PhD, MPhil and Masters by dissertation. Both theoretical and applied research can be found within our School, with much of it addressing the important issues currently being faced by commercial businesses, public sector bodies and not-for-profit organisations. We are recognised for being at the forefront of research in: business ethics and corporate social responsibility; organisation studies; leadership and strategy; finance and banking; risk management; and international management.
Entry requirements
Our applicants should have an Upper Second Class Honours degree, or equivalent.
If English is not your first language, then we require IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
