Course Description
This programme is of particular relevance to those who work or plan to work in managing and leading health systems.Students do not require an academic background in business or management to be eligible to study for this degree.
The health reforms taking place within healthy systems are creating new and challenging environments, requiring greater investment in managerial capability combined with leadership skills. This programme will provide students with the skills and knowledge to meet the challenges of today and of the future. The programme is designed to meet the needs of those already working in the health and social care services in the public, private and voluntary sectors.
It is also geared to those from outside the sector who wish to gain knowledge and skills to manage and lead health systems in the future. The programme has been designed with a cross-national, comparative focus so lessons are drawn from the UK and elsewhere.
The MSc uses the evidence base drawn from the latest research and practice in health sector leadership and management, combined with the practical application of new knowledge and skills to work-based situations.
The full-time programme is taught at Royal Holloway and the part-time programmes Kingston University. Both programmes draw on a wide network of visiting professors and consultants, who are engaged in practice.
