Course Description
The first and second year units cover all the major areas of biology and will give you a sound grounding in mathematics, statistics, IT and computing, physics and chemistry. You will find the latter units especially valuable if you do not have A-levels in these subjects.During the third, fourth, fifth and sixth years you can study a broad range of subjects, or you can choose to specialise in a particular area of biology such as Cell Biology or Microbiology by mirroring the units taken by students on these specialised degree courses. The only compulsory element is the Research Project, which is undertaken by all final year students, for which you carry out experimental work in one of the research laboratories within the School or in one of the affiliated Institutes.
