Mechanical engineers design, develop and manufacture mechanical and thermal systems. These systems may vary from the internal combustion engine to power automobiles and airplanes to the use of computer vision in biomedical and automated manufacturing applications. Initially students will be provided with a strong foundation in the basics, applied sciences and liberal arts with an increasing emphasis on mechanical engineering topics. The course also provides a wide variety of technical electives which will allow students experience and learn more about their concentration in mechanical engineering. Students will experience series of engineering laboratory courses to supplement the theory presented in lectures.
