Course Description
Our Corporate Communications postgraduate degree is designed for people who want to build their careers in internal communications or public relations (PR) and enhance their understanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR).
- Effective communications strategies: gain a critical understanding of effective communications strategies and techniques that can be applied worldwide, in any industry or sector. Whether you need to send a consistent message to multiple departments in government or to a company's numerous external stakeholders, you will graduate with the ability to see the bigger picture and adapt your communications technique. This programme has a strong basis in business and marketing, rather than journalism, so it prepares you to excel in challenging or commercial environments.
- Flexible thinking: on this course you will learn to identify and understand different stakeholder groups. You will adapt communication styles to ensure an organisation's message is understood by people with different educational levels, and across an international spectrum. You will wrestle with weighty questions about the value and competitive advantage of corporate social responsibility. This course provides a highly hands-on learning that encourages flexible thought.
- Career-ready: the work you complete during the course, including your own choice of research dissertation, builds into a portfolio you can be proud to show recruiters. With London 25 minutes away, there are plenty of opportunities for networking. Graduates from this course typically take up a variety of senior internal communications, public relations and corporate social responsibility roles. One lucky student will also gain professional experience during a short internship at The Fifth Business. Learn more about how we work with business and industry.
The Corporate Communications MA has been designed with Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) accreditation in mind. Kingston Business School is currently in the process of gaining this professional recognition.
You do not need to have a background in business to study the Corporate Communications MA, but you will need to have a strong interest in internal communications, public relations or corporate social responsibility.
