Course Description
This LLM specialises in human rights at both an international and national level. It covers a variety of issues related to the theory and practice of human rights. Collaborating with the Department of Politics and International Relations, we now offer additional modules covering the political viewpoint of human rights. Previous students on this programme have gone on to work in private practice or non-governmental organisations such as the UN.
Course Structure
The academic year is divided into two semesters. Four modules are studied each semester, and the dissertation in the field of International Human Rights Law is completed over the summer.
The LLM in International Human Rights Law has two compulsory modules in the first semester:
And one compulsory module in the second semester:
The remaining five modules can be chosen from those on offer within the International Human Rights Law programme, including one from the modules on offer from the Department of Politics and International Relations and one of the modules may be chosen from an alternative programme if you wish.
