Course Description

The Communication Department prepares graduates for employment in renown media, non-profit, government, or corporate job positions.  A listing of recent graduates’ employment positions is available on the Communication Department website.
The Communication Core is a synthesis of theory and practice. Writing, speaking, interpersonal, and small-group communication skills are emphasized.  Students will use the theoretical and practical knowledge gained in this coursework by conducting research for their senior seminar project and by participating in a 3-credit internship.
The Mass Communication Major/Minor provides a broad-based liberal arts approach to better understanding and using radio, television, film, video, and print media. An emphasis is placed on giving students skills in writing and editing skills across the various media.
