Course Description

The MSc Computer Science course enables you to gain in-depth knowledge and skills in a range of advanced topics in computer science. Core themes in the MSc Computer Science include web development, distributed systems, software engineering, interaction design, visual analytics, artificial intelligence, and foundations of computer science.

There are four taught modules, with one module offering elective topics in advanced computer science research. These are followed by an independent project. The MSc Computer Science course aims to strike a balance between advanced computer science theory, with an opportunity to gain practical, hands on experience, and exposure to relevant strands of contemporary research activity within the field of computing. Successful students will be well placed for a range of roles in the professional computing sector, and the strong research underpinning of the programme provides a platform for further research activity.
