Course Summary

Course Description

This course is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of practitioners in diagnostics and research laboratories.

During the course you will develop a thorough understanding of a range of developmental, endocrine and major organ pathologies, coupled with the laboratory methods used to aid diagnosis. This will enable you to develop the skills needed to meet the demands of a modern health science laboratory.

The course promotes career development and lifelong learning through the core professional and research skills of laboratory management, leadership and experimental design, as well as the ethical and legal context of the subject area.

A particular feature of this course is the application of emerging bioanalytical technologies to the diagnosis of disease and, crucially, the translation from research to clinical laboratory setting.

The course is delivered in part by staff from NHS pathology laboratories and in part by staff at Middlesex University who are all actively involved in Biomedical Research. This ensures that the learning is informed by both current practice and by current research.
