Your studies will include:
- A deepened understanding of the academic and applied aspects of tourism
- Language-specific skills which prepare students for employment in the tourist industry either in the UK or abroad
- Enhanced understanding of the characteristics of tourists, including demand and behaviour
- The impact of tourism upon economies, communities and the environment
- Knowledge of the main political, social and cultural aspects of the Spanish language.
Our location close to London provides many opportunities to witness contemporary international tourism at first hand. The course has a strong focus on current global trends and issues in international tourism. The academic team work closely together to provide you with the support you need to perform well on this undergraduate course.
As you progress through the three years of the course there is an increasing emphasis on choice and self-directed learning. You will also have the option to extend your studies to four years by spending a year overseas in a Spanish-speaking country - developing both your language skills and tourism knowledge. All students participate in a range of field trips – from one day local outings to longer overseas visits. These visits may incur extra costs for the students.
