Course Description

People with learning disabilities often experience difficulties with everyday activities, due to a range of intellectual, physical and mental health conditions.  The Learning Disability Nurse has an important part to play in meeting health care needs and challenges faced by people with learning disabilities who are an integrated part of society and have the right to be valued and supported as equal citizens.

Learning disability nurses work collaboratively with people with learning disabilities, their families, other agencies and members of the wider community, seeking to implement, protect and maintain the values of inclusion, independence, choice and citizenship.

This Learning Disabilities Nursing Degree course prepares you for registration with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council).
