Course Description

The BSc in Software Engineering (G600) is a specialised degree that is designed to provide a solid foundation of the key concepts and technologies for a successful career in software engineering and system development. The degree teaches skills that are directly applicable to real-world software development, such as object-oriented design, software development processes and advanced programming concepts. As a result, material taught in lectures is reinforced by practical laboratory classes and workshops. A significant proportion of the assessment of this degree is made on various software development projects that you will take part in - both individually and in group working. Our academic faculty has considerable experience in the design and implementation of real-world software development projects for external companies, specialising in the areas of web-design, databases, computer networks and information retrieval. These links with business and industry are exploited in the degree, by setting real-world problems and using real data in practical projects and coursework.
