Course Description

The BSc Mathematics programmes incorporate themes from pure and applied mathematics, statistics and computing. The first year provides a thorough grounding in fundamental mathematical, statistical and computational methods and concepts.
 
The second year comprises modules on topics such as analysis, algebra, random processes, differential equations, fluid mechanics, and numerical and computational methods. In the final year, you can pursue your own interests and choose a broad mix of topics, with optional modules including Chaotic Dynamics, Mathematical Economics, Mathematical Ecology, Advanced Stochastic Modelling and Neural Networks.
 
The G101 programme has a duration of three years, whereas the G102 programme includes a Professional Training placement year between the second and third academic years, and so has a duration of four years.
