Course Description
The study of this exciting field enables students to understand how societies are organised and governed; how competing views are produced, articulated, disseminated and resolved. It provides students with an understanding of how a decision by a government, or the actions of a people, can affect their country, and possibly their region and the wider community. In short it enables students to understand how societies actually work and further provides ideas on how to resolve pressing societal problems. The importance of Political Science as a field of study has increased recently due to the 2011 revolutions and protests in the Arab world as well as the current world economic crisis.
