Course Description

This innovative one-year MA course, supported by Barclays, is for artists, writers, musicians, composers, performing artists and recent Arts graduates establishing careers in the fields of Visual Arts, Music and Literature or in cultural provision.

The first course of its kind in the UK, it offers opportunities to showcase creative work and placements in London and the UK. A unique feature is the development of the student's own personal Arts Plan to navigate a professional creative future.

The MA is flexible and responsive to student needs through an extensive programme supported by over 20 specialist visitors, reflecting the aspirations of each cohort of students. The course defines the artist as a creative entrepreneur who is able to sustain independent arts practice in the light of 21st-century challenges. Visiting speakers are drawn from across the UK creative industries including the Arts Council, Arts and Business, Charitable Trusts, Corporate Sponsors, the National Lottery and Local Authorities.

Leading professionals from business, financial management, communications, law and marketing contribute technical briefings.
