Course Description
Oil and Gas exploration and production has developed in line with the development of society. It is currently the primary source of energy for developed countries because of its versatility in production, refining and transportation to market. The MSc Petroleum Engineering programme at Heriot-Watt University was started in 1975 and since then has produced Petroleum Engineers in demand throughout the global Petroleum industry. They are responsible for the design and implementation of techniques to maximise the production of oil and gas from reservoirs that may be several kilometers deep within the earth and may be several hundred kilometers offshore.
