Course Description

Our BA (Hons) Fire & Rescue Service Management provides a ladder of progression from the Foundation Degree in Fire & Rescue Service Management and related subject areas to honours level study. The programme enables you to develop further the knowledge and skills covered in the Foundation Degree to Honours level and helps to combine academic study with work based learning and experience through close collaboration between the employer and the University Centre. The programme is validated by Lancaster University, and is supported by International Performance & Training Solutions Ltd. (IPTS) and Washington Hall UK, part of Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service under a collaborative agreement.

Flexibility is an important feature of this degree – employers within the Fire and Rescue Services need to minimise the ‘downtime’ involved in training staff and operate in ways which minimise disruption and time away from the demand of the job and make it a more viable way to offer staff development and training. Online, distance learning and blended learning offer substantial flexibility for students –especially where they have work and other commitments.
