Course Summary

Course Description

The demand for qualified graduates in veterinary science far exceeds the supply, leading to a number of positions available. The Becker College bachelor of science in veterinary science program offers students the opportunity to follow a pre-veterinary concentration in preparation for a career as a veterinarian.

This concentration is designed to meet the pre-requisite course work for entry into the vast majority of veterinary schools. In fact, Becker College graduates have been accepted at many U.S. veterinary schools as well as those abroad. The program enables you to receive a bachelor's degree in veterinary science, while meeting the requirements for most veterinary schools, as well as the requirements for the two-year, AVMA-accredited program in veterinary technology.

Students should consult the Veterinary Medical School Admissions Requirements (published by the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges) for the requirements and recommendations of specific veterinary schools. Requirements may vary, and additional courses may need to be taken to meet the pre-requisite requirements of a specific school. Students should be prepared to begin the application process at the end of their junior year and will work closely with academic advisors and faculty for guidance in meeting admission requirements.
