Course Description
The Department of Music functions as one component of the liberal arts institution and offers two tracks; a traditional liberal arts curriculum and a traditional liberal arts curriculum that allows students to obtain a licensure to teach music in the public schools.Additionally, the department provides a wide variety of elective courses to the entire student body. Some ensembles also offer performance opportunities for University as well as community musicians. The department also serves the community at large through its offerings of cultural events – lectures, workshops, and concerts. The Department of Music is an accreditedmember of the National Association of Schools of Music.
