Course Description
English majors may concentrate on either of two programs: literature or writing. Both programs encourage students to
explore many facets of human nature and culture through the study of literature and to develop understanding and skillful use of language. Both concentrations help students acquire the knowledge, analytical skills, and writing abilities needed by such professionals as writers, editors, teachers, business managers, and lawyers. Students will choose one concentration for their major in English but may not combine both concentrations to create a double-major. The purpose of a double-major is to broaden student education in an additional field of interest.
