Course Description
This honours degree has been designed to meet the needs of those wishing to pursue a career in accountancy or finance, and provides the basis for graduates to undertake postgraduate study or professional study for a career in accountancy, finance or the general business area. The degree will nurture communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills as well as providing a thorough grounding in the keystone disciplines of accounting and finance.
Skills essential to the daily work of the accounting profession such as problem solving, planning, and decision making are developed throughout the course either individually or in small groups.
Formal lectures are supplemented by tutorials. Guest lecturers and professionals from within the accounting profession are invited to participate in the programme.
Generally a combination of continuous assessment and formal examination is employed in each module. However some modules including Information and Study Skills Management, Quantitative Methods and Diploma in Industrial Studies are assessed continuously without formal assessment.
