Course Description

This course has been designed with the aid of industrialists to address the needs of industry and research. Modern technology involves an increasingly complex and challenging range of research, development and design skills applied in a variety of industries as diverse as automotive, aerospace automation, medical instrumentation, domestic and leisure products. This BEng Hons course is designed for those wanting to become chartered engineers. The Engineering Council says: Such people are concerned primarily with the progress of technology through innovation, creativity and change. They develop and apply new technologies, promote advanced designs and design methods, introduce new and more efficient production techniques and marketing and construction concepts, and pioneer new engineering services and management methods. In essence, they are the captains of the engineering industry.
