This is an extension of the existing Latin American Studies minor program at the University of Central Florida.

They also develop a basic proficiency in Spanish, develop critical thinking skills, and enhance multidisciplinary awareness and competence regarding the terminology and methods of various disciplines within the arts, humanities, and social sciences. The program offers students research opportunities as they fulfill written requirements in their advanced courses and work on their exit research projects.

Graduates of the program will be prepared for graduate study in the humanities, social sciences, and law; or employment with the growing diverse population of Central Florida; for careers in the Foreign Service, the military, and other governmental agencies; for careers in non-governmental organizations with an international orientation; and for careers in international business.
