Course Summary

Course Description

Pharmacists are the experts in drugs and medicines. As a pharmacy student you will learn about aspects of medicine development and use, from how medicines are formulated to how they work on the body to treat various diseases. The pharmacy practice component of the course at UCLan will also enable you to apply your knowledge in real-life situations. Importantly, during the course you will gain experience of different pharmacy environments when you participate in a range of practice placements. Training to become a pharmacist involves undertaking a four year MPharm degree, followed by a pre-registration training year (six months of which should be patient-centred), at the end of which you will be ready to take an examination to register as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). UCLan is fully accredited with The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
