Course Summary

Course Description

UFV offers a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with majors in biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and physical geography. During the four-year BSc program, you can either complete a major in these science subjects, or two minors with the additional options of computing science and statistics.

After the first two years at UFV, you can also graduate with an associate of science degree, which is fully transferrable to other world-ranked, Canadian universities, such as UBC or SFU.

UFV also offers honours degrees in biology, physics or physical geography, which is excellent preparation for graduate school.

You can also combine any BSc major with an arts, kinesiology, computer information systems, media and communications, or business administration minor to broaden your education and diversify your employment options.

Small class sizes allow for strong interaction with faculty, who are active in research. To further enhance your learning, you have the option to participate in Co-operative Education (Co-op), which allows you to combine academic studies with supervised, paid work experience in a career-related field.

When you graduate from UFV’s Bachelor of Science, you are scientifically literate, trained to think critically, and fully equipped with lab and research skills to tackle further education or to enter a career in the scientific field. UFV’s BSc program prepares you for a variety of careers in research, management, business, or teaching.
