Course Description
BA(Hons) TESOL/MOLA balances theory and practice in the teaching and learning of language and qualifies you to teach English to speakers of other languages overseas or in the UK on graduating. Whether you are a beginner or you have an A Level in your chosen language, you will find the combination of a foreign language and teaching English a stimulating degree option. You will also gain classroom teaching experience with genuine learners of English from around the world and have the opportunity to gain an academic and internationally recognised professional qualification.
The languages which can be combined with TESOL are: Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian or Spanish.
It is possible to study additional languages via the School's Applied Languages Programme. You should already have an interest in one or more of the following :
- learning languages
- the English language
- cultures
- education
- people
