Course Description

Studying BA(Hons) Media Management provides you with an introduction to the wide ranging media industry alongside the business knowledge that it requires. As a Media Management student you will spend your first year studying in China, at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST). In Years 2 and 3 you will study at the UCLan Preston Campus.

In the early stages of the Media Management course, you will follow a common programme of study which includes management theory, public relations, accounting and an introduction to the media industry. Thereafter, you gradually specialise your marketing, human resource management and PR skills to a back drop of challenging and varied digital journalism modules.

You will look at global media economics, the broadcast and print industries, exploiting the digital future, business strategy and the digital newsroom. This is a great course to begin studying about marketing, advertising, PR, human resource management and journalism. You will develop understanding of the issues facing media managers, how to make money from fragmented digital environments as well as running digital media projects.
