English Language and Creative Writing are mutually compatible subjects focusing on both the understanding of and the creative practice of English. At UCLan this interesting and innovative course offers multiple perspectives on the English language that meets the needs of a range of students. The course enables students to develop analytical and descriptive skills in the core areas of stylistics, semantics and sentence analysis as well as develop their creative practice as writers in a variety of genres including fiction, drama, poetry and creative non-fiction.
