Modern language studies at the University of Central Lancashire focus on developing practical capability in speaking, listening, reading and writing skills as well as translation into English. In Year 3 you can normally choose to go on a study placement in the country where your chosen language is spoken to develop further your language skills. UCLan enjoys well established links with partners from all over the globe including, City University of Hong Kong, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies China and Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka. The overseas study placement is encouraged as part of this course so as to really enhance you language skills and confidence in communicating in your chosen language.
