It aims to provide students with up-to-date professional and academic training in sustainable energy management that is relevant to a career in sustainable development of the built environment. Studies included involve the identification, analysis, evaluation and subsequent solving of problems associated with the built environment and associated engineering systems, typically including building services systems, controls and plant, energy efficiency and sustainability, and project, resource and energy management issues. Students will be introduced to the processes of energy resources and technologies, and will be encouraged to consider energy demands and consumption, the process of energy conversion and the environmental applications of energy usage, as well as energy management in modern sustainable buildings.
