Course Summary

Course Description

Centenary’s Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science degree combines a liberal arts foundation with a career concentration in stewardship of the environment. The Environmental Science program provides a solid understanding of the interconnectivity of the Earth’s ecosystems and the applications of environmental laws.  It focuses on the relationship between the environment and our daily lives, with particular emphasis on environmental quality, stewardship of the land, human health, and how our local actions impact the global community.

At Centenary College, Environmental Science students have the opportunity to participate in environmental research teams and investigate cutting-edge issues.

In addition to research opportunities on campus, Environmental Science majors may opt to participate in a number of internships for academic credit.  Our students are involved in internships with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife and the U.S. Geological Survey.  They have been involved with local wildlife rehabilitators and officers of clean ocean action.
