Course Description

This comprehensive program is geared for students interested in creating digital art for contemporary media. Rooted in a traditional fine art curriculum, our students learn to create and manipulate digital art for print, the Web, video, and film. The program serves students interested in digital design and multi-media arts and prepares them for careers in the ever-expanding media industry.

The major in Graphic Design and Multmedia Arts offers courses in drawing, painting, printmaking, art history, and photography. Students also receive training on digital art, in the various media required for print, the Internet, videos, and films.

Graphic Design and Multimedia Arts students have the opportunity to showcase their work on, a web site created and maintained by students and faculty members. The site also highlights recent graduates of the program who have gone on to positions with various corporations and design firms.

Upon completion of their major, students are ready to market their skills within the careers of advertising, publishing, communications, film production, and more.
