About City College

City College is the largest college in the East of England. Our students are of all ages and come from all backgrounds. We are a community college and you will live, learn and work as part of a truly multicultural community with all the fun and energy that student life creates.

The college is all on one secure campus within ten minutes walk of the City Centre. It has its own self-catering halls of residence with rooms at very reasonable cost – turn to the next page for more information about this.

There are excellent recreational facilities on campus including a student bar and choice of places to eat, hairdressing and beauty salons, a drama theatre, a gym and a large and modern sports hall which offers a chance to participate in sports such as badminton, basketball and football.

The college also has a superb library with over 72,000 books plus magazines and newspapers, CDs, CD ROMs and more…plus plenty of space for quiet study.

Accommodation at City College

Most of our international students choose to stay in Southwell Lodge, our own on-site hall of residence. It is a comfortable four-storey building screened by trees on a landscaped site. There are 272 study bedrooms, all centrally heated and fitted with carpets, washbasins, wardrobes and study desks.

Rooms are grouped in clusters of 12 with bathroom and shower facilities. Each cluster has access to a kitchen area where drinks and light meals can be prepared.

Other facilities include a common room, licensed bar, an attractive TV lounge, a launderette and ironing rooms. Limited car parking is available and termly parking permits are obtainable from the Bursar of the Lodge.

At weekends, single and twin-bedded rooms (with en-suite facilities) can be rented in the Lodge's hotel wing so that parents or friends can come and visit you in Norwich.

The Lodge has its own service staff who keep communal areas bright and clean. The study bedrooms are cleaned weekly and we provide bed linen. Resident staff are always on hand to help with any problems.

If you want to apply for accommodation, please use the form we’ll send you when you are offered a place on your chosen course. Single rooms are currently just £44 per week – amongst the lowest charge in the whole UK!

If you prefer to live off campus, we can also help you to find suitable bed and breakfast accommodation or lodgings.
