If you are interested
in the World Wide
Web and its use,
this course could
be for you.
Many organisations
use 'dotcom' and
e-Commerce techniques.
These require a good
understanding of
the web itself, along
with marketing and
finance skills. By
the end of the course
you will be able
to design and implement
a simple e-commerce
system including
the network, website
and database.
The first year includes
12 units covering
topics such as design
for the internet,
computer systems
and networks, the
use of software such
as PhotoShop and
Dreamweaver, further
programming design
concepts and marketing.
There are also core
units common to all
Foundation Degrees;
these will help you
develop your personal
and work related
skills. There will
also be work experience.
The second year
comprises 10 units
(two doubles) including
e-commerce operation,
information security
and networking skills
alongside further
web design and the
integrating of relational
databases (such as
Oracle) to handle
internet transactions.
The core units this
year will develop
accounting skills,
multimedia for work
performance and personal
development, alongside
further work experience.
