California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) is one of the 23 campuses of the California State University – one of the largest and most respected university systems in the U.S. The campus sits in the heart of California’s central valley, only a short drive by car to Los Angeles, Disneyland, the ocean, and mountain ski resorts.

The campus serves over 8,000 students with 47 undergraduate degrees and 18 graduate degrees. CSU Bakersfield provides small class sizes for individualized instruction. Instructors have depth and breadth of knowledge and are accessible to students. U.S. News and World Report recently ranked CSU Bakersfield in the top 80 Western US Regional Universities.

School of Business and Public Administration (BPA)
All Professors in this school have PhD degree and real-world work experience. They remain active and involve their students in business and public policy development, consultation, research, and community service. The use the latest instructional methods and present applied coursework that is relevant to businesses of every size and industry. The programs within the school enjoy small class sizes and face-to-face interaction with professors.  The MBA program holds the prestigious AACSB International accreditation.

School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering (NSME)
The School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering receives millions of dollars in federal grants to support student and faculty research.  NSME students engage in research, develop of critical thinking skills, and gain practical experiences that prepare them for today's job market.  Students work closely with Ph.D. professors in cutting edge laboratory settings. NSME faculty are respected academic experts, published researchers, and community leaders who genuinely care about student success.

School of Social Sciences and Education (SSE)
The School of Social Sciences and Education offers some of the most popular majors on the CSUB campus. These include nursing, social work, and education. SSE faculty members are respected academic and community leaders. Faculty members genuinely care about student success.

School of Arts & Humanities (A&H)
The School of Arts & Humanities offers experienced instructors who are passionate about teaching and research.  The school is a leader in cultural awareness, ethnic diversity, and global studies. A&H welcomes visiting artists and authors from around the world. Students engage in cultural research that leads to understanding our diverse and interdependent global economy.

Tuition fees

CSU Bakersfield is one of the most affordable universities in the nation for international students. Undergraduate out of state tuition comes to $17, 935 per year. Graduate tuition comes to approximately $21,644 per year.

CSU Bakersfield also offers some of the lowest cost of living in the U.S. Students can choose from a number of housing and meal options including on-campus housing, homestay, and off-campus rental apartments. Students typically spend about $12,000 per year on living expenses (less if they share housing and meal costs with other students).
