Longwood is located in the heart of Virginia in Farmville, a charming college town, rich in history and traditions, and surrounded by beautiful countryside. We take a great deal of pride in our beautiful 60-acre residential campus, where 70 percent of undergraduates live in university-sponsored housing. Many buildings on campus are done in a red-brick colonial revival style; others, such as the new Health & Fitness Center, have a more contemporary design.
Art museums, coffee shops, theatres, hiking/biking trails, and great restaurants are close to campus. Centrally located in Virginia, a quick road trip will take you anywhere from the mountains to the beach and many interesting places in between. We are just over an hour from the state’s capitol, Richmond, and about 3 hours from the U.S. capitol, Washington, DC.

When I first arrived I felt so far from home. But it wasn’t long until I realized that Longwood felt like home. The small classes, caring professors, and friendly students made it a great place to study.

After growing up in Toronto, I had always heard the term ‘southern hospitality.’ After attending Longwood University, that phrase has come to have true meaning for me. Longwood was perhaps the best decision of my life. It gave me opportunities I would not have had at a larger institution.
