McCallie Private Boys Boarding School and Day School
Since 1905, McCallie has remained committed to providing an outstanding college preparatory program for boys. Our own experience, as well as independent research, has shown that secondary education within a single-sex environment offers fewer distractions, allows for a greater number of leadership opportunities and promotes a school culture where boys can achieve without reservation. McCallie features over 40 student-centered organizations and an outstanding array of extra-curricular activities that include nationally recognized programs in athletics, in the arts, and community service.
McCallie enrolls talented students who have strong character, diverse interests, and a willingness to work at competitive standards. Over 99 percent of graduates attend four-year colleges or universities. McCallie seeks out and accepts boys from all ethnic, racial, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds and places high value on a diverse student body. Students hail from more than 20 states and 13 countries.
More than 130 faculty members serve the student body as teachers, coaches, advisors, and mentors. McCallie teachers have earned 70 masters degrees and 8 doctorates. Nearly half of McCallie instructors live on campus, either in dormitories or nearby houses.
McCallie's Christian tradition builds a strong moral foundation and a sense of civic and social duty.
McCallie students agree to live by an Honor Code that holds each member of the school community to the highest standards of integrity. McCallie expects a boy's word to be his bond, his work to be his own, and the property of others to be safe around him. Elected officials on the student-run Senate administer the Honor Code.
McCallie is nestled on Missionary Ridge on 100 acres overlooking downtown Chattanooga.
