In a TV documentary, Gengenbach was once called a pearl among the Black Forest towns and our visitors speak of a romantic gem, of Nice of Baden. The impressive town hall building and the uncountable romantic half-timbered houses dominate the image of the town. Among the remains in the old city centre is a former monastery, where the Business Administration and Industrial Engineering faculty of University of Applied Sciences resides. The friendly and charming atmosphere allows for an intensive concentration of the program while at the same time being close to many successful German companies, such as Hans Grohe, Herrenknecht and Hubert Burda Media, for further career development.
New incoming students are assisted to find accommodation when arriving to Offenburg. The first possibility is through the Studentenwerk Freiburg, which provides 188 bedrooms distributed in two student residences in Offenburg. The rents range between 170 and 240 Euros. In each residence are apartments with 2 to 5 individual dormitories and equipped with a kitchen and a bathroom.

Another possibility is private accomodation. Prices for a one or two room apartments are between 200 and 350 Euros. Locations are proposed in Gengenbach and surroundings allowing students to experience German culture and lifestyle.
Student Life
The Graduate School offers excursions to companies, fairs, museums and other places of specific interest to international students. You will attend day trips corresponding to the topics of your Master Program. In thoroughly selected companies in Germany, France and Switzerland you will experience work processes you have theoretically studied in your seminars.

The International Evenings support and promote communication between the many different cultures present on our Campus. They help students knowing each other better in a frame of professionalism and mutual respect. As a Graduate School student you are most welcome to represent your country at one of the three evenings organised every year.

Arriving in a new country is always difficult. Realizing this, Offenburg University of AS initiated a program to help students settle in their chosen place of study. The Senior Service is made up of retired citizens wanting to foster understanding between cultures in guided city tours and informal get-togethers. Additionally, the Graduate School implements a system of honorary tutorship for admitted applicants. Senior students support a small group of newcomers during the first few weeks, picking you up at the train station, helping you in getting to your room or just taking you out for a coffee.
