Saxion University of Applied Sciences
Saxion University of Applied Sciences is located in the east of the Netherlands on three campuses, in the characteristic cities of Deventer, Enschede and Apeldoorn. The university has a student population of over 24,000, of which 3,500 are international students of 55 different nationalities. Saxion University of Applied Sciences offer students Bachelor and Master programmes in over 30 different pathways.
The university has a rich history, which can be traced back to the 1875, and it is one of the largest institutions of higher education in the Netherlands. Two educational institutions, the Hogeschool Enschede and Hogeschool Ijselland, merged in 1998 and this paved the way for Saxion University of Applied Sciences and the important centre of expertise at regional, national and international level, it is considered to be today.
International programmes are taught in English in a large variety of disciplines and range from business to technical studies. Saxion's international programmes are nationally and internationally accredited and therefore the degrees are recognised throughout the world and enables students to seek employment in their home country or many other countries across the globe.
Saxion University of Applied Sciences offers Bachelor and Master Programmes that are monitored by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. The programmes, that are also accredited by several international bodies, assuring students that the programmes on offer are of a high standard, have proven to be extremely popular with students from around the world. At present students are taking Saxion programmes from countries as diverse as Indonesia, India, China, Taiwan, Russia, Germany, Brazil, Rwanda, Japan, Norway, Estonia, Lithuania, Vietnam, Hungary, Bulgaria and Turkey, to mention but a few.
The courses are specially oriented towards the international field of activity and emphasize the importance of European and worldwide perspectives. As a university of applied sciences, Saxion greatly values practical skills and applied research. The programmes are highly focused on best practice and skills to be used in working situations, preparing you for immediate entry into the profession of your choice and further studies.
