Universal Learning Institute
ULI has been successfully accredited by the Private Career Training Institutions Agency (PCTIA) since 1999. The accreditation process recognizes the institution for its quality assurance and integrity and is an expression of confidence in the institution’s programs and performance.
ULI has also been Education Quality Assurance (EQA) designated since 2010. EQA is a quality assurance designation that identifies BC public and private post-secondary institutions that have met or exceeded provincial government recognized quality assurance standards and offer consumer protection.
In order to protect Canada’s international reputation for high-quality education, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) created a designated learning institutions (DLI) list for the International Student Program (ISP) on June 1, 2014. ULI is on the DLI list of this program (DLI#: 19283932472) and qualified to recruit international students.
ULI offers programs in many directions, including Business Administration, Health Care Services, Hospitality & Tourism, Global Trade & Marketing, Computerized Accounting and Information Technology. We have partnerships with industry associations on these programs. For example, students choose Hospitality & Tourism will receive the certification from American Hotel & Lodging Industry Association (AH&LA) and the ULI diploma as well. Meanwhile, ULI develops Global Trade & Marketing programs with Canadian International Freight Forwarding Association (CIFFA) and Forum for International Trade Training of Canada (FITT). Overall, through ULI learning, your diploma and certificate are highly recognized by employers in North America and globally. ULI also has association with local Chambers of Commerce, Tourism bureaus and other Canadian Industry organizations assuring students that the most current skills and technology being taught.
All ULI programs have a career focus assuring students will enter the job market as soon as possible, or they will become more competitive in job hunting after career training. ULI staff consists of fully qualified teachers and facilitators, with years of teaching & industry experiences. ULI’s programs come with a work experience component to help international students gain critical Canadian work experience and to help cement the skills learned during studies. Work experience can range from a 2-6 week voluntary work practicum to a one-year paid co-op work term.

ULI finds Host Employers who are committed to introducing students to work in their field of study. ULI works with the Host Employer to evaluate the student’s performance during a work experience and to provide a letter of reference on the successful completion of the agreed upon co-op work term and/or practicum placement.
ULI was founded in 1996, with the mission of providing individualized learning opportunities. ULI offers a full range of career programs. Most of these programs can be started every month. Each student has a personalized and customized program that fully meets specific scheduling and educational needs. You will complete course learning with a combination of instructor-led and facilitator-led formats. All the courses will be conducted in small class with frequent interactions between students and instructors.
ULI provides work experience placements for students who have reached the 75% point of study of the on-site portion of a program of study and met the criteria for practicum placement. We ensure that placements provide an opportunity for students to enhance the skills learned throughout the completion of a program of study.
