Wright State University
Originally founded as a branch campus of The Ohio State University and Miami University, Wright State became an independent institution in 1967.
On November 28, 2012, Presidents E. Gordon Gee from Ohio State and David Hodge from Miami joined Wright State President David R. Hopkins for a special Presidential Lecture Series event in celebration of Wright State’s 45th anniversary.
Together we looked back on Wright State’s history and forward to the future of higher education.

Campus Life:
Over and over, Wright State students say that even though there are close to 20,000 students attending the university, it still has the feel of a small school.
Why?
In addition to our faculty and staff who find ways to connect with students on a personal level, Wright State offers 200+ student clubs and organizations, close-knit communities of students who live in campus housing, intercollegiate athletics and intramurals, opportunities for community service, active online communities, and so much more. And that doesn't even account for all the opportunities you'll find just off campus!
Ultimately, it is your own decision as to how connected you become with others on campus.
We provide the opportunities...you just need to decide all the ways that you want to become involved.
