YSU offers nine bachelor degrees in more than 100 undergraduate subjects and four associate degrees with a particularly strong focus in business and engineering.YSU's student-faculty ratio of 17:1 fosters a high level of interaction and personal attention, and students have the opportunity to work closely with highly accomplished faculty.

With state-of-the art facilities and equipment, more than 140 student organizations and a host of campus resources to foster student success, there’s something for everyone at YSU.

The university is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and is fully accredited by the Commission on Higher Learning. Individual programs are accredited by their respective associations, including the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business-International (AACSB-I) and the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. 

The university also offers a full-time English as a Second Language program available to international students who require it.

The 145-acre campus is situated in Youngstown, Ohio, which acts as the perfect hub to explore exciting parts of the USA. It is a one-hour drive from Cleveland, Ohio, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and just a day’s drive from New York City, Chicago and Washington, D.C.

The dedicated Center for International Studies and Programs acts as the hub for international students and is responsible for the following programs and services:
  • International Student and Scholar Programs, including recruitment, orientation, support services and activities, as well as compliance with federal regulations concerning international students and scholars
  • Study Abroad Programs, including advising students on the countless opportunities to add an international dimension to their YSU educational experiences
  • English Language Institute, offering English as a Second Language classes to students preparing to enroll in an academic program, as well as for members of the Youngstown community who desire to improve their fluency in English
Admission Requirements
For admission and tuition purposes you are considered an international applicant if you are NOT a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, or do not hold refugee, or political asylum status. U.S. citizens, permanent residents, refuges or political asylum holders should fill out the domestic student application form.
