is an honor society that was founded by Mr. Claes Nobel, whose family established the world-renowned Nobel Prizes that reward individuals and organizations for world betterment.  NSHSS was established to highlight the accomplishments of students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship, and community commitment, as well as to foster their continued success. Its mission is to recognize academic excellence among high school students and to encourage members to apply their unique talents, vision, and potential for the betterment of themselves and the world.

NSHSS is the world’s largest honor society.  Representing more than 22,000 high schools and universities from some 160 countries, NSHSS has inducted over 700,000 members with more than 100,000 annually. NSHSS provides a wide array of member benefits that prepare students for both college and careers, including over $1,000,000 in scholarships with over $300,000 to award this year.

Scholarships are open to members in all countries. Our scholarship recipients have come from all over the world, including Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Greece, India, Mauritania Nepal, Pakistan, Romania, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Uzbekistan — among others.

Students from around the world can join NSHSS if they have met one of the following eligibility requirements during their secondary school years:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Top 10% rank in class
  • 3.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) or higher (or equivalent GPA)
  • Score 5 or higher on any International Baccalaureate exam
  • Score 4 or higher on any Advanced Placement exam
  • 26 ACT score or higher
  • 200 PSAT score or higher
  • 1750 SAT score or higher
