The Institute for the Environment offers postgraduate programmes in environmental science at Masters level, and combines its internationally renowned research activities in collaboration with industry and the public sector, to tackle environmental problems.

Excellence in Research
Brunel University has a long history of pioneering research into human impact on the environment dating back to 1978 when Professor John Sumpter established a research group to examine environmental toxicology. This work has now expanded into an Institute of internationally renowned researchers tackling environmental issues from a wide range of perspectives:
