International students can work and study at Georgian
College! Co-op is an integral component of more that 25 programs
at Georgian. This means that student’s alternate between paid
work terms and semesters of academic study. The International Centre
staff assists you in obtaining your employment visa for your co-op
placement.
Our 1-year post-graduate programs are designed
to give diploma or degree graduates further career studies opportunities.

Most of these programs also include an internship,
which will allow you to gain valuable international work experience,
as well as a reference from your Canadian employer to add to your
résumé.
Georgian College offers a total ESL program specifically
for international students whose first language is not English.
The program develops speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills
in English. Georgian has a hi-tech, computerized language lab just
for international students, where students can practice English
and send e-mails to friends and family back in their country.
This program is designed to prepare students for
success in a post-secondary program. It provides students with college
level courses in the four skill areas - reading, writing, speaking
and listening. As well, an emphasis on study skills for success
at college and an introduction to computer skills, library research,
and online learning are provided.
Students who successfully complete the EAP program
with a minimum of 65% average will be admitted into a Georgian College
diploma or degree program without TOEFL or IELTS, providing they
meet all other academic requirements.
If you successfully complete the EAP program,
you may be eligible to receive a scholarship towards the first year
tuition fees of any academic post-secondary program at Georgian
College!
The International Centre at Georgian College is
a centralized office that provides support for International Students.
Our staff will assist you with everything form choosing your program
to graduation and beyond. Here is a list of some of the services
that we offer:

The cost of health insurance is included in the tuition fees.
The
International Centre places students in suitable accommodation in
our on-campus residence, with Canadian families (homestay), or off-campus
facilities. There is no fee for this service.
If you need to extend your study permit or obtain a work permit,
the International student advisor will help you apply.
Activities and social events are organized to help you enjoy your
time at Georgian College. Some include:
