Masters
Courses
in Economics
The school has two Masters programmes,
with a total of some 100 students, more that half
of whom are international. The MSc provides core
research training in Economics for students intending
to proceed to a PhD. The MA stream is orientated
towards economic analysis for those who want to
enter the non-academic labour market.
Five MSc courses – Economics,
w/Econometrics, w/International Economics, w/Development
Economics, w/Financial Economics – and two
MA courses – Economic Analysis, Economic
Development and Policy Analysis.
Minimum entrance requirements:
a good Honours degree in Economics (2.1 class
or equivalent) with strong English language (7.0
IELTS or 700 TOEFL).

The Schools of Economics has
some 40 members of academic staff, received a
5A rating in the last research assessment exercise
(placing it in the top eight in Britain) and the
maximum score of 24 in teaching quality assessment.
The major arrears of research interest are reflected
in four research centres:
- Leverhulme Centre for Research on Globalisation
and Economic policy (GEP)
- Experian Centre for Economic Modelling (ExCEM)
- Centre for Research in Economic Development
and International Trade (CREDIT)
- Centre for Decision Research and Experimental
Economics (CeDEx).
