With
friendly and supportive tutors and a dedicated
support service to help them settle in, international
students find that they have a warm welcome at
Yale College. Its dedicated International Office
supports students throughout their studies at
Yale, from the moment of their arrival in the
UK right through to the achievement of their final
qualifications.
Each student is assigned a personal tutor to help
them make the most of their studies and access
the full facilities of the college. In addition
to weekly meetings, students can contact their
personal tutor as frequently as they wish.
The International Office provides a point of contact
for students throughout their time at Yale and
a 24 hour help line means that students can contact
the office even when the College day has finished.
We meet our International Students on their arrival
to the UK in a free pick up service and our comprehensive
induction programme helps students to settle in.
Students are helped to open a bank account, register
with a doctor, get to know the area and meet fellow
students.
Students
enjoy exploring Yale’s modern and purpose
built campus when they first arrive: there is
a choice of where to eat from the Food Court,
Lifestyle Bar or Bistro Restaurant; a student
common room to meet friends in your spare time
and state of the art lecture theatres, teaching
rooms and libraries offering a clean and pleasant
environment for study. There are so many new friends
to meet and hundreds of exciting places to visit
in the central UK town of Wrexham that Yale offers
a full calendar of social events to help students
to see all that they can! The major UK towns of
Liverpool and Manchester are only 30 minutes away
for shopping and to see the sites, or if it is
scenery that students want to see, the beautiful
National Park of Snowdonia is on the doorstep.
Yale’s
excellent record of teaching success and the full
support it provides ensures that students leave
with the best qualifications that they can and
Yale is proud that its student pass rates are
above the UK national average.
Academic
skills are not the only important thing that students
leave with – there are work experience opportunities
with local employers and a wealth of sporting
and leisure activities to get involved with. Yale
College offers a wide range of sports and recreational
options, including team sports, aerobics and outdoor
pursuits, music and performing arts, film society
and college radio. Students find that they are
a great way to develop new interests and make
lifelong friendships.
