Miyuki Takahashi

Country: japan
College:
the Language Circle, Hamilton, Canada

I am a student at the Language Circle in Hamilton in Canada. I'm from Yokohama in Japan. I have been in Canada for about one year and a half.

Before I came here, I worked for a trading company for about four years, but I quit there. Now I'm really enjoying learning English here, because the teachers and the classmates are friendly and really nice, and also I have a lot of opportunities to speak English. Then I think that listening practice, for example: listening to news, watching 'Seinfeld' and documentaries are excellent. I also like living in Hamilton very much because it's relaxed and convenient, and the people are very kind. In the future, I want to be able to talk about everything in English, I don't know how long it takes though, I will continue to study English hard.

Maricielo Pinto

Country: Colombia
College:
The Language Exchange, Toronto, Canada

My name is Maricielo Pinto from Santa Marta, Colombia, and I am a student at The Language Exchange in Toronto, Canada. I like this school very much because the environment is nice and the teachers are especially good and friendly. Since the classes are small, our teachers have more time to spend with us and we can learn a lot. I have many opportunities to speak English every day in the class and outside.
The teachers want us to get to know Canadians as well as international students. I have met many good friends through the school! We go on different cultural activities such as to theatres, restaurants, pubs, BBQ's and trips, which make our meetings together unforgettable. We learn and we have fun at the same time! My English has improved at the Language Exchange. I recommend people to come here. For sure, teachers will help you to speak better English!

Gaetan Devos

Country: Belgium
College: Whistler Language Institute, Canada

My name is Gaetan Devos and I am from Belgium. I Study engineering at the University of Brussels. I decided to study English abroad because it will help me with my university English classes. I chose to study in Whistler because it is a small town where I would be able to ski and snowboard every day in the winter. The town of Whistler is a great place to live and a dream village for me. There is snow and sunshine, and it is very beautiful.

At Whistler Language Institute, I began at the beginner level and spoke with a very strong French accent. I quickly progressed to the advanced level where I am today. Now I can easily speak about many topics and have learned about many different cultures. Since I have been here, I have met students from Mexico, Japan, Korea, Spain, and Russia. Together we discuss the differences between our countries and cultures, and learn to respect the differences.

I recommend Whistler Language Institute because we learn English in fun, interesting ways. Often the teachers use songs, games and field taps to help us learn. The teachers are very funny and nice, and will help you with any questions. It is a small school with a good ambiance; where all the students know each other.

Yves Margreiter

Country: Switzerland
College: Whistler Language Institute, Canada

Hi! My name is Yves Margreiter and I am from Switzerland. I used to work in a bank where trading foreign currency was my main duty. I had basic English, which I use in my job, but it wasn't enough to get a job in sales or a promotion abroad. I decided to further my studies overseas. I enlisted the help of an agency to assist me in finding the perfect school. I chose Whistler Language Institute because my advisor had a customer who had a very good experience at the school. When I arrived at WLI, I was made to feel very welcome. I have met students from other countries and the teachers are very helpful, patient, and capable.

After three months, I know that I made a smart choice. There is a large selection of outdoor activities in Whistler which I have taken advantage of by getting my Level 1 Snowboard Instructor's Certificate. There are plenty of social activities to help the students meet one another and keep the atmosphere of the school very friendly. I recommend WLI because the staff are very professional, there is a band new computer room, and the teachers make learning English like a hobby.
